Originally from Western Colorado, Hunter Whaley is now based in New York City and pursuing his lifelong passion of filmmaking. Hunter has worked professionally in both production and post-production while mounting independent projects on the side. Der Platz (2022) was awarded Best Experimental Short at the Manhattan Film Festival and The Big Whatsit (2024), a proof-of-concept shot entirely on miniDV, was Official Selection at the Big Apple Film Festival. His latest, Buona Fortuna (2025), was shot on 35mm as part of the Terre di Cinema Filmmaking Program in Ortigia, Sicily.
